smartSTART Alabama Partnership for Children
Welcome

Welcome to the Alabama Partnership for Children website. We have worked to create a user-friendly connection to our programs and services and those of our partner agencies at the state and local levels, and we hope you find what you need or call us with any questions.

Our Smart Start work in Alabama is based on the precept that it is much easier and more cost-efficient to build a healthy, productive child from birth than it is to remediate a troubled child, recapture a troublesome youth, or rehabilitate an adult who is not contributing positively to our society or our economy. The 60,000 children born in Alabama each year represent the human capital that IS our future. And, we know today more than ever what young children and families need so that children enter school healthy and prepared to succeed, because this early success sets the foundation for the high school graduation rates we want. Working together to build a comprehensive system that addresses all of the areas of a child’s healthy development is not only possible, it is an education and economic necessity. These young children may be in our hands today, but our future is in theirs tomorrow. Please call or email with questions or to learn how you can join our important work.
